Why I work with beads

I love beads for their endless variety of color, shape and texture. They can be seen as individual objects and be combined into unique creations.There are beads made of nuts, wood, glass, gold, plastic, shells, buttons, clay… you name it! There are ancient, valuable beads from all continents and some of them tell incredible stories. Amber beads were found in the Egyptian Pyramids but they can only have their origin at the Baltic Sea! Beads can be highlighted or bundled into a totally new form. Depending on their color or transparency, beads can reflect light in infinitely changing ways. Beads can be made to look elegant and stylish or bold and shocking depending on the personal style of the customer. In my mind, beads can be an entirely new artform. Every piece that I make is unique and I really like that.
